Moulin de Courcelles has operated as a hydro power site for over 1000 years. To restore it to its original purpose requires substantial administrative efforts. It is a long and arduous process involving multiple departments.

On 7 February 2018, the hydro power was once again operating using a Watec compact Kaplan turbine with 100 kW install power and a PMG generator, enough to supply 75 average households in France.
